Musical Instrument Exchange Programme
- Musical Instrument Exchange Programme (active months: June-September). For students who need an instrument who do not have one, or have had one and would need a more suitable and working instrument.
- For a student who does not have an instrument
- A student pays a pre-payment of a set amount per month over a select period towards renting and purchasing an instrument, new or used, from T.h.Ԑ.M.e.S. Music Studio.
- When the instrument is paid in full it is the student’s. Until then it is owned by the studio and the rent portion of the payments help to cover maintenance or repair for normal wear and tear on the instrument. Cost and shipment of parts are the responsibility of the purchaser.
- If the instrument is damaged beyond repair or damaged enough that it is better to replace it than to repair it, the purchaser will be immediately charged the remaining balance and rental monies owed according to the agreement. Once this is paid the student will own the instrument.
- If for any reason the student needs to cancel classes, the student is automatically de-rolled from this programme. The purchaser would no longer need to make payments and the instrument would need to be returned to the studio.
- If the purchaser would like to stop renting she/he can pay the remaining purchase price, the current month's rent, and any fees (repair etc) to own it at any time.
- For example. A purchaser may enroll in the 3 month period, pay rent and purchase price installment the first month, then the 2nd month pay the balance of the purchase price to own the instrument.
- For a student who has an instrument but wishes to purchase a better one:
- The student’s instrument will be appraised at the studio. Please bring the student’s current instrument, all of its accessories and parts, a description of the instrument’s history, and proof of purchase. Please also bring a description with a picture, or teacher’s suggested model for the new instrument desired. An appraisal for the current instrument, as well as a cost for a new instrument with shipping will be issued to the student within 3 days. The studio will do everything in its power to find the best quality for the best price possible at the time.
- If the student, or the purchaser on behalf of a young student wishes to proceed, the student delivers the current instrument to the studio for the full cost reduction of the appraisal price off of the cost of the new instrument. The student’s instrument is now owned by the studio.
- The studio will purchase and if need be import the new instrument. The student will receive notification that the new instrument is ready, once it has passed checks at the studio.
- The student will be invited back to the studio to try the new instrument and have it set up appropriately. At which time the full remaining price of the instrument will be requested. If the student is able to pay the remaining balance, the new instrument is theirs. If not, the instrument belongs to the studio. The studio would hold the instrument pending payment for 30 days after which it can be sold to another student.
- If for any reason the studio cannot obtain an instrument within 6 months, the original instrument will be returned to the student in similar condition to when it was received.
- For a student who does not have an instrument
